Hitting the road this summer with the crew? We are too! Currently, I am preparing for a week long trip in the Midwest with my family of 4. Driving to St. Louis, Missouri takes roughly 2-3 days from Portland, Oregon, depending on how frequently you stop.
Even though the route is familiar after years of driving to visit family back home, I now have two kids to pack for and I want to be sure I don’t leave home without any essentials.
To help me stay on my a-game, I created this list. If it’s been written down, I can stop overthinking all the details and get focused on packing, organizing and checking my route conditions. We’ll be car camping for 2 nights, mainly to save money but also because we enjoy sleeping under the stars, so I’ve included a few items to remember if you’re planning to camp it out.
